Crown become recommended local partner for start up businesses

Start Your Own Business is an established authority providing a national support network for start-up businesses by highlight the connections that are available locally to help them grow their business.

Crown offer start-up businesses various options for; corporate identity, branding, stationery and website design. It’s sad that we’ve met many start-up businesses that have been burnt by being led in various directions to produce the initial strong branding that is essential to enter a market. They’d have had a logo designed on-line that they later found had to be redrawn at great cost because it was too small, or not suitable for printing on some differing media, or made their stationery and any future printing unaffordable. Or they’d send their print to an on-line printer and find that the result was not the effect they’d have liked, or that it was printed on low quality paper. More likely to that they’ll have tied themselves into costly marketing, or website monthly payments that have proved costly and sometimes ineffective and all unnecessarily, when Crown give Free Marketing Advice to our clients and make sure that you have a website that you can manage easily yourself.

At Crown we work holistically, to produce a brand for you that is consistent, effective and in the long run, saves a lot of wasted budget that could be used more efficiently elsewhere.

Another fantastic Hampshire Hoppit

Alison ran the Hoppit Half Marathon, on Sunday in the blistering heat in just over 2 hours and 30 minutes. Quite a contrast to the weekend before in Keswick, running with a survival blanket and waterproofs for the 25k Keswick Mountain Festival. festival Hampshire Hoppit 2017 by Sussex Sport Photography 12:34:09 PM

10 Steps to persuasive Direct Mail

by - Leave a comment

Direct mail

With the growth of email traffic and the slow-down in opening rates for email shots
reducing to as little as 5%, never has it been a better time to use direct mail. See
Crown’s recipe below for the perfect direct mailer.

Attention
You need a grabber to get attention, whether it be a headline or a picture.
Branding
Keep it simple and consistent with your brand identity.
Language
Speak the language of your target audience, and don’t alienate by using jargon.
Consensus
The key to persuasive media. Show how much others are enjoying your product.
Unique
Offer a unique sales proposition.
Free
Give away something for free
White coat
Show that you have backing of respected industry organisations.
Timing
Choose a day that best suits your target audience. Tuesday morning?
Repetition
Repeat the message across other media platforms.
Print
Employ the perfect print partner. That’s Crown, by the way!

There’s another new kid on the block at Crown.

Welcome Bella! Our latest addition to the staff list. She’s a very content employee, a self starter who’s finding lots to keep her amused at work. She’s got bags of enthusiasm, and very confident for one so young.  What do they say about industry in the future? – “All you need is a machine, one man and a dog. The machine does the work, the man feeds the dog and the dog makes sure that the man doesn’t touch the machinery.   🙂 #Frenchbulldogpuppy

It’s Studio Manager, Jason in the 2016 Phyllis Tuckwell Santa fun run, held at Queens Avenue Playing Fields, Aldershot on the 11th December.

Apparently dressing as Santa does wonders for your running performance, as Jason found by bagging a 5k personal best. A great day was had by all with over 350 attendants all raising funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice based in Farnham, Surrey.

Crown celebrate 40 years in print

by - Leave a comment

40yearsold

Director Robert Avery, started the business in the garage of his home in Godalming in 1976 and built the business over the years to what it is today, producing high quality printed materials for local businesses, as well as nationally.

Crown have continually invested in the latest technology to keep ahead of the game. In 2000 Crown went one step further by taking a decision to proactively address their corporate responsibility for the environment by achieving its ISO 14001, and in July 2003 received the Surrey Sustainable Business Award for Best Environmental Improvement.

More recently, Crown was again recognised for its innovative thinking and featured in the print industry press for being the first UK print company to use a chemical free plate making system to further enhance their environmental credentials.

When asked about his 40 years in business Bob Avery, Managing Director of Crown, commented “It’s not all been plain sailing, but I’ve learnt a lot along the way, gained a son-in-law and some grand-children, and met some wonderful people”.

Senior Account Manager Alison Ball says “Most of the staff at Crown have been here for over 20 years, and I can see why – the finished product is excellent, the clients are happy as a result, and so are the staff. It certainly makes my job a pleasure, as an Account Manager.”

In this anniversary year, Crown continues to look to the future with the acquisition of a higher resolution, digital press, and a die cutting and foiling machine that will appeal to businesses on a budget, that are wanting  to make a splash with their marketing materials.
