Crown celebrate 40 years in print
Director Robert Avery, started the business in the garage of his home in Godalming in 1976 and built the business over the years to what it is today, producing high quality printed materials for local businesses, as well as nationally.
Crown have continually invested in the latest technology to keep ahead of the game. In 2000 Crown went one step further by taking a decision to proactively address their corporate responsibility for the environment by achieving its ISO 14001, and in July 2003 received the Surrey Sustainable Business Award for Best Environmental Improvement.
More recently, Crown was again recognised for its innovative thinking and featured in the print industry press for being the first UK print company to use a chemical free plate making system to further enhance their environmental credentials.
When asked about his 40 years in business Bob Avery, Managing Director of Crown, commented “It’s not all been plain sailing, but I’ve learnt a lot along the way, gained a son-in-law and some grand-children, and met some wonderful people”.
Senior Account Manager Alison Ball says “Most of the staff at Crown have been here for over 20 years, and I can see why – the finished product is excellent, the clients are happy as a result, and so are the staff. It certainly makes my job a pleasure, as an Account Manager.”
In this anniversary year, Crown continues to look to the future with the acquisition of a higher resolution, digital press, and a die cutting and foiling machine that will appeal to businesses on a budget, that are wanting to make a splash with their marketing materials.
